Fuvahmulah doesn't have common grey mantas Alfredi which are common in all Maldivian atolls. Instead, being a pelagic place, Fuvahmulah is seasonally visited by Black Oceanic Manta Birostris. 80% of Black Oceanic encounters in the Maldives happened here in Fuvahmulah. Single individuals visit Fuvahmulah for cleaning from January to August. From the end of March till the beginning of May, hundreds of Black Oceanic arrive to Fuvahmulah for mating. Definitely, in this period Fuvahmulah is one of the best destination for Black Oceanic in the world.
